In a scene in "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing" Jenifer Jones
explains to William Holden that since they are so much in love and so
lucky they have to fool the gods above so that the latter won't come
after the former by yelling "Bad rice! Bad Rice!" Well I forgot to fool
the gods above!!!
Last
week I was boasting about the money I won with Fantasy5 and the scratch
off tickets plus all the good things that were happening to me and the
gods above hit me with a few whammies the past 24 hours.
First
of all my bird Spitefire died. Then this morning I was suppose to get
up at 10:30 AM as a ride was coming to take me to my cardiologist at
12:30 PM. When I got up I noticed the clock was flashing--we had had a
'brown-out' overnight knocking all the electricity and electrical
appliances out. In reality it was 12 Noon. I did the 'necessities' then
fed the birds, packed the newspaper and a couple of magazines into my
case and waited. The ride didn't come until 1 PM.
The
appointment was for the doctor to discuss the results of the stress
tests and x-rays. Long story short it seems I have a leaky valve and
have to go into the hospital for a cauterization (? James, Tim is that
the right term?) I will check in on a Monday and get out on Tuesday. I
was, also, diagnosed as having PAD which I was aware of having a stent
put into my leg 8 years ago. It simply means artery clogging in my legs
which makes it very painful to walk more than a few blocks. This will
take place in middle May.
Yes, I know the operation has been
done on millions of people. I am not really worried but do have to make
arrangements about the birds plus make other plans. If I die (I DON"T
HAVE PLANS TO) as anything can happen on an operating table everything
is in order regarding my estate BUT I want a good last meal!!! Hey, you
worry about what you want to worry about and I'll worry about what I
want to worry about! LOL
In any case I am spending all evening
yelling "Bad rice! Dad rice!" and even if I win the Mega Money this
week I am not telling anyone!! (Sorry, Deb!) But then again if I do win
I'll just have to postpone the operation and do somethings with the
money I want to do. Hey, my heirs are getting my birds, my nude photo
album, a bunch of gay VHS tapes, some "A Chorus Line" posters, etc. I
don't want them fighting over my money!!
