"Black Men on the Down Low Exposed"

March 29, 2006 / by greatmartin

I was watching this 'special on BET cable last night--to be repeated on Friday--regarding black men cheating on their partners--I, also, saw Oprah's program last year(?) when the author of the down low book was on.

Am I missing something here? This is far from a 'new' phenomenon--I have been gay for 59+ years--the first man I went to bed with was married--and I have gone to bed with men of ALL colors--why is it a 'special' when black men do it?

On the program all you had to do was substitute white for black whenever ANYONE talked.

Also, not surprising to me none of the men said they were gay--there is a line from movie that goes "Only gay men say they are bisexual"--so true in most cases.

I love Terry McMillian as a writer and found her comments of the show the truest--her husband finally admitted he was gay.

Riley, the author of the 'down low' book never comes out and says he is gay but refers to therapy, etc. Why is it so hard for a man to say he is gay???

As I said what am I missing here? What's 'new' about all this?
