"How Do You Catch a Moonbeam in Your Hand"??

July 11, 2007 / by greatmartin

I think it would be easier than trying to photograph all my finches!!!

A little background--about 3(?) years ago I bought 2 zebra finches that died within the first week--I waited awhile and then bought 4 more (2 pairs)--I didn't know that they are worse than rabbits!!! LOL In a couple of weeks I had a total of 19 zebra finches!!!! I quickly separated the males and females!! :O)

Zebra finches have a red beak and only the females have an orange patch on each check.

I tried to take pictures of them today--here are the results!!

These are two of the 6 males--one on each side--I have a male who is plucking the feathers of the other males--so far I have narrowed down to these two--as soon as I find the guilty one he goes in a cage by himself!!

Yes, there are nine female finches in this one cage--maybe you need new glasses!!! LOL

These are the other 4 males--2 on each side.
