Before I Cook the Bird!!! :O)

December 24, 2006 / by greatmartin

Yesterday and today I let the budgies and the tiels out together for all evening when I was home--the budgies flew over to the tiels cage and the latter gave no reaction--they just stayed on top of their cage--one time when all 4 budgies took off it startled Lola and she 'flew' to the floor--the tiels were quiet, sometimes taking naps while the budgies would eat some of the corn wheels I had on top of the cage for the tiels--neither Lola or Cassie said a thing when Spitfire raided their cage and started to eat their food out of the food cups--soon Butch joined her.

So far Lola & Cassie have showed no interest in the budgies or even climbing over to their cage.

I am worried about one thing with the tiels--at first I thought it was a game when Lola kept going for Cassie's foot band but it seems more serious than that--she doesn't attack the foot and there is no blood or bites on her feet but think it could be a thing of 'dominance'?

Are all tiels 'clumsy'? These 2 are as was Loner--they are funny to watch climbing up and down their cage or going to and from perches-- fumbling, stumbling but getting to where they want to go!

Say hello to the budgies: from the left--Spitfire, Sky, Butch, Leader

"Okay, it's cocktail hour--where is that damn waiter with our drinks!"

    Those are beautiful photos.

I only have one bird - I open the cage every morning when I feed him
and I close the cage every evening when I close the house curtains.
He chooses to come out of his cage so infrequently
that it's a special treat to watch him flying (and being) around.

What kind of bird do you have???

My budgies and tiels will spend most of the time when their cages are open inside of them, too--will occassionally come out for a flight around the room but they love their cages!!! Why not as they have EVERYTHING they could want in there![LOL][THUMBUP]
