A Whole Day with Nothing to Do!

May 31, 2006 / by greatmartin

My biggest complaint about retirement is that I don't have enough time to do/get everything done I want to.
I have 3 lists on my desk:
1) Things to do today
2) Things to do this week
3) Things to do this month

All I have on the list for today is pay rent, cable, credit card and eBay bills--the things I have to do this week can't be done in advance (doctor's appointments, etc.) and I won't accomplish anything by doing whatever is on the monthly list today (like clean the bird cages which I do at the end of the month and did yesterday.).

I AM FREE TO:
go to the beach or pool
write blogs
get caught up on some blogs I have wanted to read
sleep in late
read books, magazines, papers
have sex (well at my age I guess it should be on all 3 lists!)
treat myself to a good lunch in a favorite restaurant
leave options open for dinner
be a couch potato and watch a DVD
look out my window and observe nature
take a walk around the neighborhood
watch my birds
write letters

Oh, the choices are endless, unlimited--decisions, decisions, decisions-- I'll play it by ear!

Well, now that I am finished hanging out the washing to dry, you have to remind me that I have to do the bills. Thanks, Pal.

'hanging out the wash to dry'??? I bring it into the laundry and they wash, dry and fold for 60 cents a pound--always have--that's why I worked![LOL]
