I've reached a point in my new book where I want to talk about gay couples and was hoping that some of you could help me.
Basically I would like to know how long you have been together--age difference, if any--how/where you met--any pets
So
far Jack and Larry have answered--they have been together 56 years--met
at work--no pets--8 year age difference--as have Robert & Jim--50
years next month--no pets--Robert is 15 years older than Jim--met in
Cleveland through friends.
I know of only 2 lesbian couples who blog here and don't really expect one to answer.
So if you haven't come out and would prefer to answer me via e-mail just send your answers to mgood66@juno.com.
Okay,
AJ, Alfredo, Donna, Tom, James, Peter, Dale, Chuck, etc., I am waiting
on your help--free copy of book when published--what more could you
ask?? LOL

David and I met in Oct 2003, Started dating Nov 2003, Moved together & moved in together May 2004, then got married May 2005 (pick which date you want to use). We have 12 years between us (Feb 1965 & Jan 1977). We met through a mutual friend (Ric reich) in Phoenix, AZ. I invited Ric over for a sex party and he asked if he could bring a friend (which turned out to be David). We both were with other people that night but wanted each other. David invited me to go with him to Sedona, AZ in November for Thanksgiving. He also invited like 14 other gay guys but everyone cancelled except me. He then invited me and my dogs to Sedona and the rest is history. We used to have 2 Chihuahuas (Copper Penny Looks Like Gold & Lady Diana Dreams of Lace), however when we moved here we didn't have them all up to date on shots and Hawai'i is very particular about that so we shipped them over to my brother who was going to watch them until we could get them caught up and then ship them out. However the 2nd day he had them the boy (Copper) ran off and was never seen again. the Girl (Dee Dee) got setteled and fell in love with the family so she stayed their. We couldn't drag her from her family after she became happy with them. Still breaks my heart but what you gonna do??
Thank you
I'm answering here because I was asked here (or, at least, I saw the post and read it here).
Edie and I met at Johnson & Wales University in 1991. We were both students there and happened to land in a class together. We never once spoke in class and never sat anywhere near each other. However, because we were both smokers at the time, we would take our breaks in the school's courtyard where there were benches to sit on and buckets for the disposal of cigarette butts. That's where we first started chatting. I know I had an eye on her, but didn't know she had one on me.
A week or so later, I had to wait for a ride from school. Instead of rushing off, Edie decided to wait with me, so we sat in one of the school's coffeeshops, got coffee and chatted. I asked her if she'd go out with me on the upcoming Saturday night and she said yes. We went to a lesbian bar in Providence, drank some beer and danced quite a bit. She told me she was relieved that I had asked her out while we were in that coffee shop because she was getting up the nerve to ask me out while we were there, too!
I took her out on a date again on the following Thursday and she invited me into her apartment afterwards. I ended up staying a couple of hours. The next date was on Saturday, I took her to my place afterwards and she spent the night. The next day is when I asked her to move in with me. She officially moved in on November 3, 1994, and that's the day we consider the official beginning of our commitment to each other, so that is the date we celebrate our anniversaries on.
I had a cocker spaniel at that time, so we had a pet until we moved to another apartment. Pets were not allowed, so Randi (Copper Penny) was adopted by an elderly couple who were very sweet and loving. We have not had any pets since and we now live where pets are not allowed, either. (Although, it appears, that rule may have changed.)
I am approximately a year older than Edie. My birthday is Jan. 1954. Edie's is May 1955.
