AT&T, Clear Channel recognized for treatment of gay, lesbian employees
Tuesday September 18, 9:38 am ET
Two San Antonio companies earned perfect scores from the country's largest civil rights organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T - News) and Clear Channel Communications Inc. (NYSE: CCU - News) received 100 percent scores from the Human Rights Campaign 2008 Corporate Equality Index.
This is the third consecutive year for AT&T and the second for Clear Channel that the companies received top scores on their workplace policies for GLBT employees.
"More businesses than ever before have recognized the value of a diverse and dedicated workforce," Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese says.
"More importantly, these employers understand that discrimination against GLBT workers will ultimately hurt their ability to compete in the global marketplace," he says.
AT&T is a global communications company, providing business communications services, wireless, high-speed Internet, voice and directory publishing and advertising.
Clear Channel is a global media and entertainment company with operations in radio and television stations and outdoor displays.

Also, in 1973 I put the top down on my Caddy, had the triple A book plus a gay guide on the seat next to me and spent a month (July 15-August 15) 'investigating' the SouthWest--I have some very x rated pictures of me and a bartender I met in San Antonio who showed me the sites in SA and a few other things!!! Ah, memories--so glad I have them (and pictures!)[THUMBUP]
