Life is Tough!!!

October 17, 2007 / by greatmartin

My biggest complaint about retirement is that I don't have enough time to do/get everything done I want to.
I have 3 lists on my desk:
1) Things to do today
2) Things to do this week
3) Things to do this month

All I have on the list for today is pay rent, cable, credit card and eBay bills--the things I have to do this week can't be done in advance (doctor's appointments, etc.) and I won't accomplish anything by doing whatever is on the monthly list today (like clean the bird cages which moves to the weekly list at the end of the month--so much to do/so much to list.)

I AM FREE TO:
go to the beach or pool
write blogs
get caught up on some blogs I have wanted to read
sleep in late
read books, magazines, papers
have sex (well at my age I guess it should be on all 3 lists!)
treat myself to a good lunch in a favorite restaurant
leave options open for dinner
be a couch potato and watch a DVD or TV
look out my window and observe nature
take a walk around the neighborhood
watch my birds
write letters

Oh, the choices are endless, unlimited--decisions, decisions, decisions-- I'll play it by ear!

It is tough being retired!!! (Don't hate me! LOL)

I'm 36 year's old, and have your life at 72. This is what happens when you crush 3 vertebres, herniate 3 disks, and have a pulmonary embolism all by my age. Nobody will take a chance and hire me, because my health sucks. Plus know one want to risk you in there buildings, or on their premises. They are afraid you will hurt yourself. or something will happen, that they can't control, I was a iron worker and the guy operating the crane on the job site that I was on, did not see me and, swung a I-beam straight into my Lower back, to mid level. Thats life. I don't mind retiring at my age, although it does get boring at times. To my credit and advantage, My wife is a young hot red head, plus she's a nurse. so I manage to keep myself busy, If ya know what I mean. She takes good care of poppa bear. [THUMBUP]
