A long weekend in NYC to see "A Chorus Line"--Johnny and I go to see a late show of Charles Pierce's nightclub act--I'm drinking--see a guy at another table cruising Johnny--I arrange an introduction and then 'disappear'--hit a few bars--get smashed and arrested in Grand Central Station--get back to hotel next day--he hadn't returned--leaving one of my credit cards behind I change my airline reservation back to Memphis where there had been an ice storm--drunk and/or hungover I slip on the ice gashing my forehead--with blood gushing out I go into the townhouse and up the stairs leaving a trail--get into bed--pillow so soaked with blood I have to get up and go to hospital which is next door--Johnny returns the next day--it's the end between us but will last until February when the guy I had set him up with comes down to Memphis and Johnny spends my birthday with him--it's over.
(For all the 'dish', gossip and what happened in our relationship--and Grand Central Station-- read my book: "Letting It All Hang Out" starting on page 149--can order it from authorhouse.com or Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble or Borders---get best price at authorhouse!)
I start the chapter with "LOCAL COUNTRY BOY TAKES CITY SLICKER FOR A RIDE".
As from all experiences I learned one from this--when 2 people meet and decide to live together don't move into a place where one of them lives--get a new place and start a new life.
Pictures starting from the top left:
2), 4) and 5) Johnny was and is a very talented decorator--when I went on a business trip I would never know what I would be stepping into when I opened our door--in yesterday's pictures I showed you the orange walls which were part of his Halloween-Thanksgiving decor--these two show the candy stripes and greens he used for Christmas.
1) Johnny was 11 years younger than me--the first (and last) time I had a relationship with that much difference in ages--I was seeing the world through his eyes which was so much different than mine--and he introduced me to a world of a country family--both his mother and grandmother would make an extra pan of dressing just for me because I loved it so much--and his grandfather thought it was hysterical (and it was) when the had this New Yorker picking greens!
