Christmas-New Year's Week is the busiest (and most expensive) week for tourists vacationing in South Florida. Everythinhg from airports to city streets to restaurants and the beach are overcrowded and mpst hotels are booked solid.
This year was no exception but for one thing. Generally, at least for one day, we will have a 'cold' spell--maybe a high of high 60s or low 70s--that's when you will see pictures of people from Canada, the NorthEast, etc., bundled up in sweaters, jackets sitting on the beach all being quoted as 'freezing, but better than where I came from."
Not this year--all this past week it has been in the 80s--in some cases breaking records for rhe date--during the day and mid to high 70s as the low in the evenings, not to forget the water temperature about 74 degrees.
BUT they better leave on New Year's Day as that 'cold' spell is coming--on Wednesday we are suppose to go down to a high of 62 degrees during the day with possible inland frost during the morning hours--or else they will have to spend their time in the malls spending those Yankee dollars!!!
I promise you a newspaper picture showing a Northener 'freezing' on the beach!!! LOL

I heard from a friend who is vacationing this week in Florida...she said it was so darn hot that she had to stay indoors to stay in the A/C! Hey, she wanted to get away from the cold! [LOL] So, where is she spending all her time? Out of the heat! [LOL][LOL][LOL]
